A redoubtable performer
Cellular Vulkollan® is a variant of Vulkollan® and is used in applications requiring greater deformability and a lower compression hardness than is attainable with solid elastomers.
Cellular Vulkollan®, with its relatively low damping values allied to a high dynamic load-bearing capacity, is also the ideal material when it comes to solving vibration problems.
Cellular Vulkollan® is a versatile elastomer with an impressive level of properties. If offers scope for innovative design, particularly in the construction of spring systems. With cellular Vulkollan®, exciting new perspectives open up in numerous industry sectors.
Mechanical properties of cellular Vulkollan® as a function of density
Cellular Vulkollan® is produced in densities ranging from 300 to 800 kg/m 3. Compared with solid elastomers, cellular Vulkollan® can withstand substantially higher compressive loads with minimal bulging. It is quite normal for articles made of cellular Vulkollan® to be deflected by up to 80% of their original height in routine industrial use.
In comparison with conventional PU foams, cellular Vulkollan® has an exceptionally high level of properties, some of which are shown as a function of density in the diagrams on the following pages.
