The elastic covering on wheels subjected to extreme stresses must have very high mechanical and dynamic properties indeed. If, for example, steering movements are to be performed while the vehicle is stationary, high-tenacity materials will be needed that do not show any permanent deformation. High surface pressures and rough floors compound the problems for the wheel cover. Vulkollan® wheel coverings are ideal under such circumstances because, on the one hand, they have high mechanical strength and, on the other, outstandingly low abrasion values and extremely low permanent deformation ali properties which have opened the door for Vulkollan® to the heavy-duty vvheel market.
High dynamic loads vvhether caused by high deformation at low speeds or by low deformation at high speeds lead to a build-up of heat in the elastomer covering, as a result of which the load-bearing ability is impaired. Through the special damping characteristics of Vulkollan® elastomers, the heat build-up is kept low. Because the temperature also has little effect on the mechanical properties, this results in outstanding dynamic load-bearing ability.
Long standing-still times can lead to a flattening-out effect that significantly impairs the rolling behavior of the solid tires. Vulkollan® wheel coverings have an extremely low permanent deformation, which means that Vulkollan® wheels function perfectly even after prolonged periods without movement.
The excellent dynamic load-bearing ability and superior property profile mean that the Vulkollan® wheel coverings offer outstanding performance. In the electric forklift truck segment, many manufacturers use only wheels made of Vulkollan® .
Vulkollan®' s excellent properties :
Vulkollan® is the oldest, best known and strongest performing polyurethane elastomer. Vulkollan® is manufactured from polyester, di-isocyanat Desmodur 15 and special chain extenders. The raw materials used in this process are carefully specified and undergo stringent guality control, ensuring top guality elastomer.
- Excellent mechanical wear and tear resistance
- High impact resiliance
- High tear propogation resistance
- Low compression set
- Resistant to oil, grease, petrol and various other solutions
- Good resistance against ozone, UV and other energy laden rays
Polyurethane elastomer is an organic material with high molecule and form by the varieties of urethan groups. High technology is utilized in production of Vulkollan®. There is a large possibiiity of selection of formulas in production according to specifications. Parts in our catalogue are manufactured from V27 type of Vulkollan® and its hardness 92 shA. When there is a requirement for heavy load capacity V30 and V40 are recommended and the hardness becomes 94-96 shA.
1- Vulkollan® wheels have more carriage capacity than rubber wheels and they are more economical.
2- The working environment is -40 °C / + 80 °C and sometimes it may go up + 110 °C
3- Resistant to hydrcocarbons, oils and solvents.
4- Very silent in operation.
5- Resistant to friction.
6- At the smooth surface its life becomes longer.
7- Resistant tocut trough.
8- Resistant to acids, amines and phenols.
9- Natural colour is light yellow, but it's easily effected by day light and it’s colour turns dark, however it doe s not loose anything from its original function.
10- Resistant to ozone
11- We can recommend this system for electirical fortlifts, heavy duty machines and friction vehicles.
12- Wheels up to 60 Kg, may be manufactured from Vulkollan®.
13- ln case any special requirement except our production line, it is possible to accept orders.
14- The load capacity varies from 32 Kg / cm 2 to 70 Kg / cm 2.
